PHP Versions Added

PHP Versions Added

Starting today (07/04/2026), ProRedLine added support for newer PHP versions, changed the default PHP version and will soon be removing an old PHP version. We’ll explain everything you need to know in this post.

New Versions

To ensure our systems are up-to-date and secure, we’ve added the following new PHP versions to our services:

  • PHP Version 8.4 (Security support until 31/12/2028)
  • PHP Version 8.5 (Security support until 31/12/2029)

These new versions include lots of backend changes, therefore we recommend reading each version’s changelog before updating your cPanel account to one of these versions to ensure your website stays operational without any unexpected errors, maintenance or downtime. Nevertheless, we do recommend updating to one of these versions when possible.

Changed Default Version

We’ve changed the default PHP version of ProRedLine services from version 8.2, to version 8.3. All accounts using the default system version, have been updated to this newer version.

We’ve also carefully and fully tested version 8.3 on both testing and production sites before these changes were made. These tests were succesfull and without any issues or problems. After we changed the default system version, no issues were detected on any other active sites either. This is due to the fact version 8.3 is not new itself, most programs already support this version to run with.

Version 8.3 will be supported by ProRedLine until 31/12/2027. Therefore we recommend manually updating to an ever newer PHP version listed above when possible to avoid issues in the near future, however this is not required.

Version 8.2 EOL

The changes in this article were made to support more PHP versions for all sites, and because the version we used before (PHP version 8.2) will reach it’s end-of-life on 31/12/2026. On this date, version 8.2 will be removed from ProRedLine services as this version will not be maintained after this date. Until then, users may downgrade to version 8.2 if needed, in their cPanel account. However, all sites are expected to run as they should on current version 8.3 or newer.
